Duties/ Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Manager Information Technology Services 2, M-3(Chief Information Officer of the Lottery), the position is responsible for support and maintenance of Lottery's server and hardware and software. Specific duties include:
Maintains and administers existing systems, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server systems, Linux, VMware, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft WSUS, Blackberry, IBM Content Manager, IBM DB2, Symantec Endpoint Protection, EMC Avamar backup/recovery.
Monitors Server Systems/Network activity including system load, response time, available resources and user activity. Responds to Server/Network outage notices and troubleshoot system failures, over utilizations and outages.
Data cabling, equipment installation and testing/monitoring/troubleshooting of data communication/network equipment within entire Lottery network and remote endpoints.
Assists in Network Support Unit activities, system design, Server/Network/Desktop system standards, testing, implementation, backup and recovery, documentation, problems and schedules.
Assists Information Security Unit in advising, designing, testing and troubleshooting Server System/Network System/lient System security standards including Firewall/Router/Switch/VPN configurations and Endpoint security.
Handles procurement, installation, customization and maintenance of Lottery Server Systems and Lottery Local/Wide Area Network hardware and software based on Lottery needs.
Responds as Level 2 to Help Desk requests or referrals of Server/Network related problems. Interface with Help Desk to resolve user problems and analyze collected data to identify support issues and problem areas and develop short or long term solutions.
Participates in meetings, occasional travel to remote sites, interface with vendors on proposed and potential system/software solutions and attend training classes and seminars as needed.

7 years of experience with IBM Content Manager
7 years of experience with IBM DB2
5 years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory/Account and Group Policy Management
5 years of experience with Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007/2010
5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL 200/2005/2008
5 years of experience with Cisco Network/Security Management\Configurations
5 years of experience with Firewall\VPN Management\Configurations
5 years of experience with Network\Server security
5 years of experience with TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, SSH, SSL, X.400 and X.500
4 years of experience with HP EVA SANs Management\Configurations
3 years of experience with Microsoft ISA Server
3 years of experience with Blackberry Enterprise Server 4
3 years of experience with EMC Avamar
3 years of experience with Netscreen Management\Configurations
2 years of experience with Microsoft DNS/WINS
2 years of experience with Microsoft IIS 6.0/7.0
2 years of experience with Microsoft WSUS\Windows Server\Client Patching
