Duties/ Responsibilities |
Perform duties necessary to develop, enhance, and/or maintain applications. Act as a team leader or member, completing assignments in response to user requests. Develop, perform and/or supervise any or all phases of a system life cycle, including gathering business requirements, functional design, program design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and user training. Supervise and direct subordinate staff. The majority of DOCS applications function within an IBM mainframe environment.DOCS is also dedicated to leveraging Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to integrate legacy applications while developing the next generation of systems. The candidate may be responsible for the development of applications using technologies including, but not limited to COBOLII, CICS, CA-Easytrieve, SQL, DB2, C#, ASP.Net, Biztalk, and Microsoft SharePoint. |

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications |
Minimum Qualifications: must be reachable on the Information Technology Specialist 3 (Programming) list or be eligible for transfer as a permanent New York State Employee. |

Additional Comments |
Three (3) positions are currently available within the Applications Department. Specific duties will vary depending on department priorities and experience. DOCS is located on the State Office Campus, with easy access and ample parking. Daily schedule will be arranged with supervisor, starting between 7:00am and 9:00am. |
