Duties/ Responsibilities

The Assistant Business Officer manages Vouchers, Purchasing, Audit Team, Cash Office, and Contracting; reviews and approves NPS expenditures to assure they are proper and meet all applicable rules, regulations, and laws; reviews and monitors NPS spending plans for all departments and teams and approves and monitors expenditures against each spending plan.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

Please Note: Individuals must be currently employed by New York State to be eligible for appointment to this position.

Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list OR have permanent status as an Assistant Business Officer and be eligible for lateral transfer OR have one year or more of permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
