Salary RangeFrom $58046 to $70317 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 13 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
52.7 Non-Competitive Promotion:
If there are no more than three qualified candidates in the promotion field for this position, the agency will request approval from the Department of Civil Service to fill this position via a noncompetitive promotion (NCP) examination, pursuant to Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law. In order to be eligible for the NCP, candidates must be in the direct promotion field, be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Cannabis Management, have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Licensing Examiner 1 and must not have failed the last holding of the promotion examination for the title listed above.
Promotional Provisional Pending Examination Qualifications:
Candidate must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office of Cannabis Management and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as either a Licensing Examiner 1 or a Licensing Services Clerk, or a clerical, secretarial, keyboarding, paraprofessional title allocated to a Grade 11 or higher.

Duties Description The incumbents of these positions will oversee the units responding to Level 2 call center operations issues and provide oversight and guidance to the units on application reviews. These staff will also lead training efforts for new staff brought on for the licensing team to review license applications and respond to level 2 inquiries.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Provide guidance and assistance to staff on calls requiring review.
• Respond to inquiries from applicants for licensure.
• Draft and respond to frequently asked questions and complaints received. Provide scripting for the level 1 call center to update their knowledge base.
• Oversee and implement the training program for new staff responsible for licensing activities. This includes, but is not limited to state staff, consultants and temporary staff to ensure consistent application of the policies and procedures.
• Update and manage training materials for new hires, including reference guides, system user guides, canned shared mailbox responses and policies and procedures.
• Coordinate approvals for license applications from G-9 Licensing Clerks and G-12 Licensing Examiner 1s.
• Produce reports utilizing statistical data for Operations leadership.
• Perform full range of supervisory functions.
