Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must have your current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD). You must indicate your RD registration number on your application.

You must have your New York State Education Department (NYSED) certification in dietetics-nutrition AND have completed a minimum of an additional 400 hours* of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of a RD. Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As a Dietitian 2 you would work under the supervision of a Nutrition Services Administrator providing professional dietetic and nutrition services to individuals; and may supervise a Dietitian 1.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the instruction of students or nutrition interns in Medical Nutrition Therapy and food preparation techniques

• Coordinate medical records for clinical nutrition. Ensure medical records (Electronic Health Records) reflect nutritional status of the individuals and meet regulations.
• Completion of nutritional assessments using the Nutrition Care Process and discharge plans (frequency is dependent upon clinical needs and regulatory statues) .
• Plan and Review menus for regular and modified diets.
• Attend ISP meetings and discharge meetings.
• Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and make recommendations to the treatment team for the maintenance and/or improvement of nutritional status.
• Maintains collaborative relationships with other clinical disciplines (SLP, OT, PT, nursing) to provide comprehensive service delivery to individuals.
• Recommend changes to meal plans to address nutritional concerns.
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to assess dining and swallowing concerns.
• Schedule and conduct Nutrition in-service education/training for staff, families and individuals. Maintain attendance records and record topics covered.
• Participate in the development and implementation of plans for corrective action.
• Ensure OPWDD regulations are adhered to and for overall nutritional health and safety of the individuals.
• Regular and proficient computer use of clinical documents inclusive of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for individuals within the clinical caseload.
• Conduct regular Nutrition and Sanitation Oversight reports for residential sites within assigned caseload.
• Participate in State Operations, Region 2 Nutrition Services Discipline Meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
