Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Current Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Services employee with permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Senior Librarian and interested in reassignment; OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Senior Librarian Law, Senior Librarian Medicine, Senior Librarian Reference, or Senior Librarian Technical Processes and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for performing a full range of professional librarian activities such as: selecting, acquiring, classifying, cataloging and indexing library materials. Provide bibliographic reader assistance and research services to library clients. Responsible for the administration of the library at the Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls and may be assigned some supervisory duties. The Academy’s library has an extensive collection of fire-related materials including books, periodicals, technical papers, manufacturers information and videotapes.

Additional Comments Hours will vary depending on the Academy schedule.

NOTE: Support of operations during times of emergency and disaster from State Emergency Operations Center (EOC), state field offices and/or local deployments may be required, which would result in a change and/or increase in working hours, locations and/or duties.
