Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have permanent appointment in an Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) NY State classified position (or be eligible for transfer) or be reachable for appointment on the current NY State Civil Service eligible list for Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding), Full Time - Brockport location.
Duties Description Essential Functions:
Processes and completes applications for prospective applicants.
Generates letters for applicants without errors.
Processes ASC and/or Common Application Tape downloads - this is the SUNY applicant tracking system.
Responds to office emails.
Serves as back-up to other Office Assistant 1’s in the office.
Answers overflow calls received on the main office number.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of computer programs: Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills.
Multi-tasks and prioritizes work well.
Communicates basic information clearly and politely by telephone and in person.
Works well as a member of office teams.
Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
