Job Specifics
Minimum Qualifications Current Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent-permanent status as a Senior Health Planner, G-18 OR NYS employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title at G-16 or above that is eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

The ability to gather and analyze data, health care resources, health usage patterns, quality of services or patterns of care; experience conducting research projects and investigative studies; knowledge of SAS or other statistical software as well as Microsoft Office, (Access, Excel and Word.)
Duties Description The Senior Health Planner will work with internal DOH staff, including Wadsworth Center and ITS staff, as well as external vendors to administer the New York State Medical Marijuana Program. Develop presentations and other forms of communication including: user guides, FAQ’s and website content. Analyze data from registered organizations and provide summaries to program management staff to assist with programmatic decision making. Assist with policy development, including but not limited to, the certification and registration processes, Review and assist with processing applications received from certified patients, designated caregivers, and entities who wish to become a registered organization for the Medical Marijuana Program. Provide verbal and written communications to internal and external stakeholders, including practitioners, patients and registered organizations to ensure compliance with the Medical Marijuana Program, monitor adverse event reporting for quality of care issues.

Contingent permanent, full-time. Periodic in-state travel is required; including travel to some areas that may not be served by public transportation.
