Minimum Qualifications Open to the Public:
Open-Competitive: Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
Open to New York State Employees:
Transfer Opportunity – One year of permanent competitive service as a Nurse 1 or eligible for a 70.1 transfer
Duties Description Under the supervision of a higher-level nurse or licensed medical professional, Nurse 1s provide nursing care within established guidelines and procedures to individuals with conditions and treatments that are non-critical. This can include:
Conducting health assessments; diagnosing and treating an individual’s response to actual, potential, or diagnosed health problems through the provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being; and executing medical regimens prescribed by a licensed health care provider.
Participating in staff training, preparing clinical and administrative reports, maintaining infection control standards, and functioning as a member of a treatment team.

Additional Comments Salary Schedule for the Nurse 1 Position is as follows:
Employees hired for this shift (1 pm – 11 pm) will qualify for a shift differential (+$400.) and inconvenience pay (+$575).
**Additional compensation above the hiring rate may apply depending on the candidate’s training and experience.
