Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.

Duties Description This position is located in the Expenditures unit. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Manage and supervise employees in the Voucher and Travel Units;
Oversee Expenditures operations – includes payment for Maintenance and Operations (M&O) vouchers, review land claim payments, process refunds of appropriation and travel payments. Also write, update and post appropriate Manual of Administrative Procedures (MAPS), process complicated transactions;
Assess and analyze processes and troubleshoot problems. Derive and implement solutions with minimal instruction;
Role as the Statewide Financial System Security Administrator and Transaction Workflow Administrator;
Serve as Statewide Financial Training Coordinator;
Represent Accounting for Statewide Incident Command Center (STICC) as Finance Section Chief including all related activities;
Participating in miscellaneous assignments such as the on-boarding of NYSDOT to the Statewide Financial System.

Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
