Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications High School diploma and two years of experience in the construction, design, operation, and repair of special machines, tools, and/or equipment fabricated for laboratory use.

Duties Description The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences seeks to fill a position in the Health Science Instrument Shop. The Laboratory Equipment Designers will

•Develop, design, repair, operate, and/or maintain laboratory devices and apparatus used for scientific research by scientists, research engineers, chemists, physicists, physicians, and other scientists.
•Design and/or modify according to instructions from scientists in varying disciplines who describe the general nature of the experiment to be conducted and the type of equipment needed for the experiment.
•Work closely with research scientists throughout the testing and modifying of laboratory equipment process to ensure the equipment meets the requirements for the laboratory procedure.
