Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Permanent service in this title or one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-11 or higher and otherwise eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. Candidates on the eligible list will be considered and need not apply to this posting.

Duties Description The Program Aide supports the functions of the Interstate Transfer Unit. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: screens both juvenile and adult interstate transfer cases and applies relevant adult or juvenile compact rules to determine whether the case meets criteria for acceptance into New York State; responds to requests for reporting instructions; forwards the interstate transfer package to the appropriate New York State local probation department; follows up with the receiving state or local probation department to ensure that a transfer case is either accepted or rejected; enters information into the case tracking system; and responds to all telephone calls, e-mails and faxes related to interstate transfer cases.

Additional Comments Appointment is subject to Division of Budget waiver approval.
