Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list, or;
Candidates must have permanently served at least one year in a title designated as appropriate for transfer in accordance with Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Transfer eligible titles include but may not be limited to: Office Assistant 2, Office Assistant 2 Calculations, Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding.

Duties Description The incumbent of this position will be responsible for logging in, date stamping and tracking HP-1 arbitration requests; categorizing multiple submissions from the same provider/facility; performing quick reviews of HP-1 forms to ensure claimant name, employer name, carrier name and provider signature are all present; filing incoming HP-1 requests as appropriate for review by the SG-14 Workers’ Compensation Examiner; assembling approved arbitration requests in paper file; generating claimant/provider identification label and filing in appropriate cabinet; printing additional supporting documentation from carriers or providers and placing in file and making note of receipt in file to ensure review by arbiter; copying file prep sheets and reports after completion by nurses and placing in file; withdrawing arbitration request if HP-4 is submitted and removing file from the calendar; assisting in creating awards as needed and filing completed dispute by Disputed Medical Bill (DMB) number; and assisting in compiling resolved arbitration files for shipping and storage in Norwich at the end of the year.
