Job Specifics

Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree and three years of progressively responsible professional experience in assessment design, development and administration. One year must have involved management or leadership responsibility within an educational program, school district or organization involved in assessment design, development and administration. A Ph.D. may be substituted for one year of experience.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This will be a temporary appointment. Filling of this position is contingent upon Division of Budget approval.
*Leads to a maximum salary of $79,819 based on annual performance advances.

Duties Description The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is seeking applicants for the position of Project Assistant in the Office of Higher Education. The Project Assistant will work as part of a team that is responsible for implementing initiatives relating to teacher and school leader effectiveness. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Developing and delivering technical assistant materials, training, resources for both P-12 and higher education stakeholders;
• Responding to questions and concerns regarding teacher and school leader effectiveness initiatives from both P-12 and higher education stakeholders;
• Gathering feedback and reviewing research on best practices;
• Assisting with the program registration, review and approval process; and
• Other duties as assigned.
