Minimum Qualifications PSYCHIATRIST 1:
Possession of a license to practice medicine in New York State OR possession of a limited permit and licensure in another state or by written examination in Canada1;

AND

Completion of an accredited training program in general psychiatry acceptable by the America Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for entrance into its examination.

PSYCHIATRIST 2:
Possession of a license to practice medicine in New York State OR possession of a limited permit and licensure in another state or by written examination in Canada1;

AND

Certified in general psychiatry by the America Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

1Limited permit option: If you are licensed in another state or by written examination in Canada, AND meet the other requirements for Psychiatrist 1 or 2, you are also eligible if you have a current limited permit to practice medicine in New York State. If appointed, you must obtain your license within one year of the date your limited was issued. Failure to do so will result in removal from your position.

Duties Description As a Psychiatrist 1 / Psychiatrist 2, you will provide direct clinical services to both resident and non-resident patients, including psychiatric evaluation and individual and group therapy. Such service is normally provided within a team composed of professionals and paraprofessionals. You may also have limited supervisory responsibility for professionals and paraprofessionals on a treatment team.

Additional Comments Central New York Psychiatric Center is seeking candidates for Psychiatrist positions. These positions are available at the inpatient facility in Marcy as well as in mental health satellite units located in correctional facilities throughout New York State, including facilities in close proximity to Middletown, Glens Falls, Utica, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo.
