Minimum Qualifications Candidate must be a matriculated undergraduate or graduate college student. Enrollment in a computer based curriculum is preferred. Candidates must have a working knowledge of Windows 7, MS Office 2010 suite of applications, PC hardware (new and reallocated) setup, repair, relocate and configure; setup and installation of Windows 7 and other software in use at the Authority and be able to troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
Duties Description This position is in Desktop Services. Duties include setup, configuration and testing of PC hardware (CPUs, monitors, printers, scanners); installation and configuration of software on PCs; Help Desk phone coverage (log support requests in Service Manager); troubleshooting PC related problems over the phone and at customers' work stations; assisting with preparing equipment for disposal; researching and developing technical solutions to problems; and learning to use various software tools such as Outlook, HP Service Manager, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Windows 7, Ghost, and SCCM/Remote Control.
Additional Comments Candidates must enjoy customer service type work and have good communication and phone skills. They must project an interest in the job and focus on specific customer concerns, providing timely followup. This is a six month internship and candidates must be able to work approximately 30 hours per week. Actual work schedule will be determined based on service coverage needs and the student’s class schedule.
