Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent, competitive service as a Nurse Practitioner (Family Health) OR eligible for 70.1 transfer OR NYS Registered Professional Nurse License and NYS Education Department Certification to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in a Psychiatry Specialty and reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list for the title.

All OPWDD employees must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Continued employment will depend on maintaining eligibility.

Duties Description Duties Description: As a Nurse Practitioner (Family Health), you would provide primary health care working in collaboration with a licensed physician or physicians. Duties would include, but not be limited to:
Assessing the physical and psychosocial status of individuals with developmental disabilities in campus based and community based settings by means of interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests; diagnosing illnesses and physical conditions and performing therapeutic and corrective measures.

The above duties are performed in accordance with a written practice agreement and written practice protocols for the psychiatry specialty and agreed upon in advance by you and the physician of record.
