Minimum Qualifications Reachable for appointment from the current Civil Service eligible list; OR Permanent New York State employee eligible for lateral transfer; or in a comparable title and eligible for Section 70.1 transfer; OR A Master’s degree in psychology that includes a psychology practicum or externship which prepares graduates for master’s level psychologist positions and two years of supervised post master’s degree experience in a clinical or community mental health setting providing primarily psychological services. Qualifying experience must primarily include performing diagnostic psychological evaluations or assessment tests, developing and writing psychological treatment plans, providing psychological counseling and treatment in one or more of the following areas: mental and/or emotional disorders, cognitive disorders, behavioral disorders, developmental disabilities, alcoholism, addictions, sex offender assessment and treatment, or forensic mental health.

Duties Description Perform psychological evaluations. Develop and implement plans of treatment for residents of an Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) residential or secure facility. Provide technical direction to program staff. Maintain records and write reports. Participate in treatment team meetings. Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview.
