Duties Description The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) of the Office of the New York State Attorney General is seeking a Network Administrator to work in its Electronic Investigative Support Group (EISG) based in Rensselaer. The mission of MFCU is to investigate, prosecute and bring affirmative civil cases against individuals and corporate entities responsible for improper or fraudulent Medicaid billing schemes, as well as to investigate and prosecute allegations of abuse and neglect of residents in nursing homes and other residential healthcare facilities. The EISG manages a statewide network, consisting of 8 regional offices, and supports a 30+TB data warehouse, as well as a national eDiscovery Repository which is used by audit, investigative, and legal staffs in the detection of fraud and abuse.

As a member of the network team, the Network Administrator’s role includes, but is not limited to:

• Participating with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links, including the Microsoft Active Directory Environment.
• Ensuring the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, and video network services.
• Assisting with the installation, modification, and maintenance of the organization’s Microsoft Exchange 2010 and virtual environments.
• Troubleshooting network performance issues, as well as analyzing network traffic and providing capacity planning solutions.
• Assisting in configuring, diagnosing, repairing, upgrading, and optimizing the organization’s VoIP communication system and services.
• Assisting in creating and maintaining documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
• Documenting the LAN and WAN architectures, design, and layout, including protocols and standards used, as well as configuration.
• Assisting in designing and deploying servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs and other hardware when necessary.
• Researching, planning and implementing any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components to stay current with the industry standards.
• Where necessary, working with equipment vendors during installations and hardware issues.
• Providing on-site, end-user technical support and maintenance (hardware and software) on all desktop systems, printers, networked copiers, mobile and other devices.
