Minimum Qualifications One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c service as an Information Technology Specialist 1 OR in a position at G-12 or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. Candidates reachable on the eligible list for this title will be canvassed and are not required to apply for this position.
Duties Description Under the direction of higher-level Information Technology Specialists, the Information Technology Specialist 1 would perform a variety of non-programming IT duties.
Duties may include, but not be limited to:
• Performing technical and agency program support IT activities related to network and system design, configuration, maintenance, and security.
• Provide customer support.
• Business/systems analysis and design which may include web site development and administration of a transactional, dynamic, or interactive web site.
• The design, development and administration of database systems.
Additional Comments These will be Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) positions within the Human Services Cluster and will be located at Building 12 on the State Office Building Campus in Albany. Some positions may require fingerprinting. These positions are pending DOB approval to fill.
