Minimum Qualifications This position is open to NYS employees with one year of permanent, competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 3 (Programming), SG-23, or to those deemed eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. Candidates reachable on the eligible list will be considered through canvas and need not apply.

Duties Description This position is to provide application development and support for New York State Board of Elections (SBOE).

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

- Perform analyses, programming, documentation and support of SBOE applications including the voter registration system and campaign finance filing software.
- Participate in the development and support of the SBOE Internet and Intranet applications.
- Participate in the analysis and development of the web-based campaign finance filing system.
- Perform and participate in the research and analysis of hardware and software solutions for SBOE systems.
- Perform database administration tasks.
- Unit testing, trouble shooting, debugging, system testing and integration testing of new applications and program modifications.
- Assist with hardware setup, configuration and support.

Desired Experienced:
- Experience with development and database technologies that may include .NET, C#, and MS SQL Server.
- Experience with web development and web services.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Experience with each phase of the software development process and various application platforms.
- Experience ensuring delivery of software products or updates.
- Experience with creating and implementing processes to efficiently manage the release of code.
- Experience helping troubleshoot problems with an application.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with technical staff and agency program staff.
