Minimum Qualifications Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree and an active Project Management Certification, and have six (6) years of experience managing large complex enterprise resource planning human resource system implementations.

Experience must have included two years of managing large PeopleSoft HCM multi-department/agency system implementations and upgrades. Experience with PeopleSoft HR 9.2 preferred.

Duties Description The New York State Information Technology Services Administrative and General Services cluster (AGS) requires a Project Director with extensive information technology project management experience to work on a priority NYS Human Resource system initiative. Under the direction of the AGS Chief Information Officer, the Project Director will be responsible for directing the development and implementation of a multi-phase Human Resource Information System (HRIS). The HRIS system will enable the Office of General Services (OGS) Business Service Center (BSC) to provide a common HR platform to Executive state agencies. This position will provide onsite daily Project Management services for the planning, governance and management of the implementation of a multi-phase project initially focusing on implementing a centralized system to enable to BSC to provide Human Resource services to Executive Branch Agencies as they migrate to the BSC. This position serves as the main point of contact on project and support activities with a variety of stakeholders, such as BSC and OGS leadership, ITS leadership, contractors, and other state agencies.

The IT Project Director will be responsbile for coordination of technical teams involved in the implementation of the PeopleSoft Human Resource Management system. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Leading and directing the efforts of the IT Project Team focused on the delivery and implementation of an enterprise human resource management system using Oracle PeopleSoft HCM release 9.2.
• Managing project development from initiation to closure; working with project technical team leads and stakeholders to outline scope, goals, devlierables, resources, budget and timing of projects. Developing, maintaining and monitoring master project schedule.
• Clearly communicating expectations to team members and stakeholders and acting as a mediator between technical and BSC business project teams.
• Resolving issues and problems throughout the project life cycle. Tracking and reporting on project milestones and providings status reports to management.
• Leading, coaching and motivating project team members on a proactive basis.

Additional Comments This Office of Information Technology Services position will be assigned to the Administrative and General Services Cluster. Please note that this is a temporary assignment with an estimated project duration of 18 months. Some positions may require fingerprinting.
