Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher. Two years of experience providing individual and/or group counseling in a recognized correctional, criminal justice, or community/human services program. Bachelor's degree in correctional studies, counseling, criminal justice, psychology, social work, sociology, or vocational rehabilitation. Master's degree in these subjects may be substituted for one year of required experience. Would be required to pass an oral spanish speaking proficiency test.
Duties Description Administer assessment tools and/or instruments to determine risk and/or needs to better prepare individuals eventual return into the community. Interview offenders and review relevent information to determine counseling needs and make program recommendations. Evaluate and investigate offenders program participation. All of this for caseloads which includes monolingual spanish-speaking offenders.
Additional Comments If appointed at the trainee 1 level, enter a two-year traineeship leadng to the Offender Rehabilitation Coordinator (Spanish Speaking) SG-19.
