ELIGIBLE LIST: Candidates must be reachable on the current eligible list for the Keyboard Specialist 1 in Albany.
Candidates who are currently on the eligible list for the Keyboard Specialist 1 in Albany need not submit an application for this posting unless they are applying directly as a result of the transfer qualifications listed above.
*In addition, candidates must be able to type at the rate of 35 words per minute corrected. Candidates must either provide documentation of their typing skills or pass a performance test before being considered for appointment.
Duties Description Under direction of a unit manager, the Keyboard Specialist 1 is responsible for performing the following duties:
- Retrieve phone messages from Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system and document electronically;
- Receive incoming waivers of personal appearance and document receipt in Fair Hearings Information System;
- Receive and electronically log certified mail;
- Sort and store incoming faxes electronically;
- Proofread fair hearing decisions to correct redacting omissions;
- Distribute waiver of appearance packets via fax, email or in person;
- Other related tasks, including typing any reports or letters as needed.
Additional Comments Full-time, permanent appointments will be made. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.
