Minimum Qualifications Current permanent status as a Licensed Master Social Worker 2 and qualified for lateral transfer ~ OR ~ Eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law ~ OR ~ Reachable on the current Licensed Master Social Worker 2 eligible list. Candidate must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain licensure, certification and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.
For Provisional appointment: Licensure and current registration by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) AND have one year of post-licensure professional social work experience.
Substitution: Licensure and current registration by New York State as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker may be substituted for the licensure and current registration by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker AND the one year of post-licensure professional social work experience.
Candidate must possess experience treating patients with occurring addiction and mental health disorders. Be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain licensure, certification and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.
Duties Description The incumbent will carry a caseload and assume responsibility for treatment planning, case management and discharge planning, facilitate group counseling, facilitate educational workshops, provide individual counseling for clients with mental health and trauma issues, act as a consultant to CASAC clinicians on cases involving mental health issues, participate in management team meetings and may supervise a clinician. Responsible for oversight of supervision of the social work interns and overall development of the internship program. Conduct biweekly chart-based Individual Supervision. Review closed charts to ensure that all final disposition forms are in place.
