Minimum Qualifications Nine years of professional level work experience, three of which must have included managerial, decision-making, and/or oversight of a major health-related program or in the direction of a major administrative function of a large health-related organization. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for four years of the general professional experience; a master’s degree in an appropriate field may be substituted for an additional year of that experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong management and supervisory, public speaking, policy development and quality assurance experience; experience in the administration, implementation and evaluation of health care regulatory programs and delivery systems; experience in acute and/or ambulatory care or health care regulatory oversight; strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast paced, complex environment. Administrative experience in ensuring Federal, State and/or accrediting standard regulatory compliance in a health care facility or practice; or experience with overseeing Federal, State, regional and/or accreditation compliance in a health care regulatory oversight program.
Duties Description The Deputy Director of the Division of Hospitals and Diagnostic and Treatment Centers will have administrative and management responsibility under the direction of the Director for the Division’s four bureaus and program staff located in regional area offices throughout the state. The incumbent will work closely with the Director to develop State Health Policies, provide oversight for service delivery, manage State and Federal surveillance programs, oversee the approval of Certificate of Need applications, prepare the Division’s annual budget requests, monitor expenditures, manage staff, oversee regulatory and legislative amendments, develop and coordinate internal controls, oversee strategic planning, perform presentations to internal and external stakeholders and serve as liaison to other Department programs, State agencies, health care organizations, external parties and other governmental entities.
