NYS Executive Chamber
Location: New York, NY
Salary Band: $85,000-$100,000
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Employee Relations, this individual will play a key role in the day-to-day administration of a robust Employee Relations program within the NYS Executive Chamber. Additionally, this individual will serve as the main point of contact for NYC-based Executive Chamber staff and assist with general inquiries, onboarding, and coordinating training, and handling personnel matters.
Duties:
• Conducts initial intake investigations, gathering pertinent background and factual data in relation to employee grievances and complaints.
• Interacts with managers and employees in resolving interpersonal conflicts which may involve mediation to assist with resolving issues at the lowest possible level.
• Administers onboarding activities for staff located in the NYC office and serves as a liaison to onboarding staff in Albany, as well a point of contact with the BSC and other agencies, as needed.
• Collaborate with Counsel Office as Ethics Filer contact to assist in keeping employee’s filer information up-to-date and annual certification.
• Conducts employee exit and stay interviews.
• Assists with reviewing Reasonable Accommodations, health and safety assessments, Domestic Violence liaison activities, Workplace Incident investigations, and employee recognition programs in the New York City office.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree and at least three years of progressively responsible professional administrative experience, preferably in a government organization. A relevant Master’s degree may be substituted for one year of the general experience. Work experience in human resources or a related field may substitute for the education requirement, on a year for year basis (i.e., 2 years for an Associate’s degree; 4 years for a Bachelor’s degree.)
A strong understanding of human resources administration and related laws and regulations is important. The ability to work collaboratively, foster a positive work culture, and maintain confidentiality are also crucial for success in this role. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have a strong desire to learn all aspects of the role and the organization.
