Minimum Qualifications 1. Must be currently permanent in the title of Licensed Psychologist;
OR
2. Must be active and reachable on the NYS Civil Service eligible list for Licensed Psychologist;
OR
3. Must be eligible for 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable by the NYS
Department of Civil Service (must be within 2 grades of targeted title AND meet the required minimum qualifications
listed below);
OR
4. If you meet the minimum qualifications noted below, you may submit a completed NYS-APP form to the Personnel
Office for scoring.

Minimum Qualifications:

Open Competitive: Current license to practice psychology issued by the New York State Department of Education and currently registered to practice psychology in New York State.

Promotion: Current license to practice psychology issued by the New York State Department of Education and currently registered to practice psychology in New York State AND one year of permanent competitive or 55(b) (c) service as an Associate Psychologist or Psychologist 2.

Duties Description Provide psychological services to individuals in Rockland County.

Develop, implement and monitor behavioral plans for individuals with maladaptive behavior. Plans to develop ADL and other self-help skills may also be needed for certain individuals.

Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team and attend meetings for case review and residential habilitation.

Develop and present individuals cases to various review committees (BMRC, ICC) for their approval.

Participate as a member of the Psychology Department. This includes attending monthly meetings and performing special assignments, as directed. These include risk assessments, competency evaluations and credibility assessments.

Perform routine psychological assessments such as intelligence testing and measures of adaptive behavior.

Participate in eligibility committee via interviews of applicants for OPWDD services, and through paper review.

Participate in special incident review meetings.
