Minimum Qualifications Must be in title or on the Civil Service eligible list for this location or be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 in a designated title determined by the New York State Department of Civil Service.
Must have ability to drive from one location to another.
Preferred Qualifications: Training experience, candidate with initiative, organizational skills, comfort level in the use of technology (computer skills and/or online learning, electronic media, databases) in a busy, working environment with multiple projects.
Duties Description Assist Training Director in scheduling, planning, promoting and overseeing all training activities with focus on timely compliance per statewide OPWDD and GOER expectations.
Travel from duty base to other FLDDSO locations, Region 1 OPWDD (FL and WNY DDOOs), other state agencies or community training locations is required.
May be required to attain certification in one or more of the following: CPR Instructor in a nationally accredited agency, SCIP-R/PROMOTE Instructor Trainer, OPWDD Code of Ethics/Core Competencies/PRAISE, Other required training topics;
Support Traineeship Council/STAC, Traineeship processes and new employee orientation (NEO);
New Employee Orientation (NEO) instructor;
Participate on agency committee(s) and attend meetings, as assigned;
Enter data, run and review reports and oversee SLMS data entry to ensure department is fully utilizing feature of SLMS to achieve and monitor compliance;
Conduct training for supervisors;
Oversee the development of online training courses to meet deadlines;
Delegate to appropriate staff aspects of the development to achieve effective curriculum and delivery;
Assist staff in completion of mandatory online trainings as requested;
Work with other training and ITS staff as needed to resolve technical problems and enhance the ability of the workforce to complete and achieve compliance in online learning;
Assist in the implementation and delivery of required statewide training topics and projects; Researches and informs employees of available educational and training opportunities;
Monitor staff assigned to video conference key user duties to ensure effective use of local video conference network to reduce technical problems for all users;
Delegate to appropriate staff the delivery of hosted video conferences and assist, as assigned;
Supervise subordinate staff in the department, as assigned;
Provide administrative coverage for Training Director, as assigned.
Will be expected to perform DDSOO Administrator on Duty functions in order to support health and safety of individuals with developmental disabilities and staff and adherence to OPWDD polices.
