Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have a degree in Veterinary Medicine and a current, valid New York State Veterinary license.
Candidates may not have any involvement whether personal or business in any part of horse racing or have any other conflict of interest with racing participants.
Duties Description • In charge of the procurement of post and pre-race urine and blood samples;
• Assist with the supervision of all Commission test barn personnel;
• Assist in the conduct of investigations in event of positive drug tests;
• Supply technical information on drugs and their effects and acts as expert witness at hearings;
• Assist in the determination as to fitness of racing entrants and reports such matters to racing officials;
• Responsible for all matters concerning the physical condition of horses to be raced at the track as to soundness and freedom from defect or contagious disease.

To: time required to collect samples after the last race.
Monticello Raceway, Monticello NY. Monticello Raceway is normally scheduled to race Monday through Thursday.
