Minimum Qualifications CIVIL SERVICE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must be an employee of New York State and have permanent or contingent permanent status as a Psychologist 2 eligible for transfer, OR have permanent or contingent/permanent status as a Psychologist 1 and eligible for a 70.1 transfer or be reachable on the Civil Service list.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERMANENT APPOINTMENT: Applicant must have a master’s degree in psychology in one of the following disciplines: clinical; or community; or counseling; or developmental; or forensic; or gerontological; or neuro; or rehabilitation; or school; or social. You must indicate the name of the school, the year the master’s degree was obtained and the psychology discipline as indicated on your diploma. In addition, applicant must have 3 years of post-master’s degree experience in a school, correctional facility, hospital or a clinic.
SUBSTITUTION: Completion of a clinical internship or traineeship may be substituted for one year of experience; a doctoral degree in psychology may be substituted for two years of experience; a combination of both may be substituted for three years of experience.
Duties Description The duties include but are not limited to the following: The incumbent would provide psychological and residential habilitation services to individuals in state operated programs as outlined below:
Psychological assessments
>Psychological programs
>Monitoring of data
>Medication consent
>Team meetings
>Habilitation goals
>Staff training
