Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as a Manager Information Technology Services 1, G-27 OR in a position at the G-25/M-1 level or above deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second, consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two grades.

Duties Description Within the Enterprise Information Security Office, the Manager Information Technology Services 1 will act as Manager to the Cluster Security Services Team supporting the Finance, Regulation, and Gaming cluster. The incumbent will be the primary point of contact on all cluster information security issues, and will advocate for the cluster while being an extension of the EISO within the cluster. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Supervise Cluster Security Services Team for the FRG Cluster;
• Conduct information risk assessments on cluster projects;
• Guide agency and ITS cluster staff to achieve compliance with federal and state information security-related statutes, regulatory requirements and NYS policies;
• Advise ITS cluster agencies on information security risk and recommend strategies to manage same through appropriate controls and countermeasures;
• Participate in the development of enterprise policies and standards for NYS that consider cluster agency requirements and business needs, interpreting policy requirements for the cluster;
• Advise cluster agencies on appropriate security controls (based on data classification and risk assessment);
• Escalate security concerns that require EISO and/or Cluster CIO attention according to applicable reporting and escalation procedures;
• Assess the impact of security threats and vulnerabilities on cluster information assets and disseminate threat and vulnerability information to appropriate parties within operations, cluster and cluster agency;
• Report information security incidents to EISO per state policy and act as a liaison for cluster support appropriate incident response, recovery and remediation activities;
