Minimum Qualifications •Working knowledge of fundamental accounting principles and audit practices.
•Experience in forensic financial analysis and auditing, or compliance auditing or program analysis.
•Ability to clearly summarize and support technical findings both orally and in writing.
•Demonstrate an aptitude for critical analysis.
•Comfortable in conducting interviews.
•Exceptional spreadsheet skills. Knowledge of statistical or database software is a plus.
•Bachelor of Arts degree with 12 credits in accounting or three years’ experience is required.
Duties Description The responsibilities of the Compliance Auditor/Examiner will include conducting entrance and exit conferences with filers and filer representatives, preparing and presenting detailed reports on technical findings, serving as a technical expert in investigations, reviewing and analyzing supporting evidence provided by audit subjects to substantiate statutory findings, and traveling throughout New York State, as necessary, to conduct field audits.
