Salary RangeFrom $67703 to $85635 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year permanent or contingent permanent status in a title eligible to transfer to Project Manager 1 under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description Reporting to the Director of the Bureau of Quality Control and Risk Management, the Project Manager 1 oversees a portfolio of projects for the agency in order to coordinate and manage resources, and ensure that project goals are successfully met. The duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Create a project portfolio and project inventory that encompasses all agency wide projects and initiatives, both ongoing and prospective;
• Coordinate portions of projects of small or medium scope, or assist in coordinating portions of larger projects;
• Develop, or use pre-existing project management plans and documents, to manage and support the activities of a project team(s);
• Participate in reviewing project proposals or plans to define basic scope statements, and document basic project requirements, including determining project start and end dates and establishing critical milestones within the project schedule;
• Interact with stakeholders at all levels of the agency to coordinate the activities of the project team(s) and ensure that project objectives are met;
• Design, develop and/or refine necessary documentation and templates to support project management;
• Organize and maintain a project management library, project tools repository, and/or a project management website; and
• Assist higher level program area manager(s) on more complex projects;
• Monitor project activities against critical milestones and parameters; make adjustments and/or redeploy resources based on changing requirements.
