Minimum Qualifications Please Note: Candidates must be employed by New York State to be eligible to apply for this position.
Candidates must have permanent status as a Clerk 2, Grade 9 OR be eligible for 70.1 transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Section 70.1 allows a permanent competitive class employee, who has at least one year of permanent service in a transferable title such as Agency Services Representative, Calculations Clerk 2, Keyboard Specialist 2, Motor Vehicle Representative or Payroll Assistant, to transfer to a title where the essential duties and qualifications are similar and the transfer is within two salary grades. Duties Description The Consolidated Business Office is responsible for consolidated cash management, purchasing, vouchering, contract and payroll services for 24 OMH psychiatric facilities. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare and process vouchering transactions for submittal to the Office of the State Comptroller for payment. This requires mathematical calculations and knowledge of program area.
Obtain information from various sources for the processing of documentation.
Review unit and/or department forms for conformance with approved policy and procedures.
Review reports for numerous programs and check for accuracy.
Act as a liaison with vendors, facility staff, and control agencies regarding payment status and issues.
Maintain various databases.
Perform other clerical duties as necessary.
Additional Comments The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking a qualified State employee to fill a Clerk 2 position in the Office of Financial Management, Consolidated Business Office (CBO). The Consolidated Business Office is conveniently located on the grounds of the Capital District PC at 75 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, New York. We offer a comfortable working environment with covered parking available on site for a nominal monthly fee.
