Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS:
Education level required (education required for this position):
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college or technical training in construction techniques and/or mechanical systems is preferred.

Experience required (include no. of years required):
1-3 years of on-the-job training in housing construction techniques and/or mechanical systems.

Duties Description BASIC FUNCTION:
Assists the Senior Inspector with building inspections, both pre- and post-contract. Installs energy conservation and safety-related equipment. Maintains logs of various aspects of the Weatherization program.

WORK PERFORMED:
•Verifies that each tenant has an individual electric meter.
•Collects documentation on Housing Code Violations for each audited building.
•Updates and maintains log of lead testing and abatement contractors.
•Compiles and maintains log of prices (“Fair Market Price List”) for commonly used materials.
•Compiles and maintains inventory log.
•Delivers and installs Health and Safety equipment (carbon monoxide detectors and battery-operated smoke alarms) as needed.
•Delivers and installs base load materials (i.e., low-flow showerheads; faucet aerators) in each unit.
•Delivers and installs an average of five compact fluorescent bulbs in each unit.
•Undertakes post-inspections of all installed equipment, and secures all required tenant sign-off forms.
•Assists Sr. Field Inspector in auditing small homes (1-4 units) which may be eligible to receive Weatherization services.
