Senior Auditor Grade 18: Eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title. Appropriate titles include but are not limited to:
Senior Accountant SG-18, Senior Internal Auditor SG -18, Data Processing Fiscal System Auditor 1, SG-18, Tax Auditor 1 SG-18, State Program Examiner 1 SG-18. Please note that in order to be appointed to this position you must also have 24 credit hours in Accounting and/or Auditing coursework.
Duties Description You must have a 4 year degree with a minimum of 24 credits in accounting/Auditing. As a Senior Auditor with the New York State Insurance Fund, your primary responsibility will be to conduct premium audits on policyholders so as to determine actual premium due. You will be required to conduct all audits in accordance with NYCIRB and NYSIF rules, regulations, and procedures.
Audits can consist of site inspections of policyholder locations and a review of invoices, contracts, financial records, income tax returns, payroll books, payroll taxes, general ledger, cash disbursements, certificates of insurance and programs for storing and retrieving data.
This is a field position for which you will be assigned a specific geographic territory. You will be responsible for scheduling your own appointments, maintaining your inventory, and completing and submitting reports daily.
