Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 4, G-25, OR in a position at the G-23 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades.
Duties Description Within the Chief Operations Office, the Information Technology Specialist 4 will be responsible for developing the plan for the Parks & Recreation Modernization Initiative encompassing Point of Sale solution, Golf Reservation System, and Public WiFi. The incumbent will also be responsible for analyzing and determining the required capacity at remote sites located throughout New York State.
Additional duties include, but will not be limited to, the following:
• Manages network-related projects, tasks, and upgrades, and coordinates networking resources as needed.
• Serves as the liaison between NYS Office of IT Services; NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation; and various vendors.
• Conduct site visits for surveys, work status verification, supervision, and testing.
• Keeps project manager well informed of status.
• Communicates and enforces customer requirements.
• Performs design reviews.
• Reviews new technologies, methodologies and processes to ensure the network infrastructure meets current and future needs
