Minimum Qualifications This is a transfer opportunity for current New York State employees only who are eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law - candidates must have permanent status in a title approved for transfer by Civil Service within two salary grades of the Grade 6 level. The Beginning Clerical Worker Eligible List is also used to fill this title. If you are on this list, you may receive a canvass letter.

Candidates who have not previously served in a keyboarding title must demonstrate adequate keyboarding skills (i.e. the ability to type 35 words per minute with at least 96% accuracy) by passing the Keyboard Specialist performance test.

Duties Description This position is located in the Budget and Fiscal Management Bureau.

• Receive and perform data entry of Purchase Requests in Access database; check Purchase Requests for accuracy; call vendors if necessary for additional details.
• Perform creation (data entry) of Purchase Orders (PO's) using online Statewide Financial System (SFS) and data entry of purchase orders in Access database and distribute copies as needed.
• When applicable, place orders using VISA procurement card; follow up with Requesters to ensure proper receiving; reconcile monthly paper and online VISA statements.
• Follow up with vendors and requesters to resolve problems/incorrect deliveries as needed.
• Respond to inquiries from OAG staff for assistance.
• Verify contract prices for goods, or obtain quotes for special requests, prior to being ordered.
• Assist with phone coverage for the team and/or bureau as requested.
• Work on special projects and/or perform other duties as assigned.
