Salary RangeFrom $78631 to $102597 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Either: 1) Reachable on a Civil Service eligible list (if you are on the eligible list for this title you will automatically be canvassed for this position if your score is reachable for potential employment); OR 2) Eligible for reassignment by virtue of having a permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 4; OR 3) Eligible for transfer under the provisions of Section 70.1, 70.4 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description The incumbent duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide daily leadership of all Network staff and place resources as needed to support Network functionality. Create and maintain all Network project plans to deliver new or enhanced functionality to NYSTRS Staff. Produce complex documentation such as RFP', RFI's, Statements of Work (SOW), Policies and Procedures for any given project or task. Create and manage a Network budget that supports all of our Network related software and hardware Lead Network team in the evaluation and selection of new technologies. Manage all staff related personnel actions be they team building, hiring or discipline actions. Actively participate in supervision and technical training classes and disaster recovery exercises, which may involve occasional travel.

Proficiently communicate technical information (written/verbal) to users, vendors, and IT support staff.
In-depth knowledge and experience with the following:
• Network protocols analyzers.
• Cisco Nexus networking equipment, protocols and configuration
• Cisco Video Conferencing / Telepresence equipment
• VOIP and Call Center Systems
• Wireless Systems
• Network Access Control Systems
• Windows 2008 Server and Support.
• Network Routing, Load Balancing, VLANs, ACLs, Trunking, LACP, BGP, OSPF
• Network equipment and network cabling
• Network Performance troubleshooting
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
