Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Mental Health Program Specialist 1, G-18 position in the Division of Adult Services and Managed Care, Bureau of Special Projects. The incumbent will work under the direction of the Mental Health Program Specialist 3 and be responsible for assisting with operational issues related to transitioning high risk/high need individuals from institutions and Adult Homes into alternative community settings. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assist the OMH program lead on an interagency team responsible for the implementation of the Adult Home settlement agreement. The settlement agreement involves assisting Adult Home residents with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), in certain homes, to understand their rights under the settlement including the opportunity to move to a more integrated setting, most typically supported housing.
• Participate in interagency meetings prepared to discuss case specifics, compliance with any legal agreement, and next steps.
• Provide assistance to state agencies regarding managing reports.
o Track case specific data for reporting.
o Maintain documentation of progress to date on the assigned initiative, and keep supervisory staff informed in time to intervene where needed.
• Monitor Child and Adult Integrated Reporting System (CAIRS) housing in-reach and/or referrals, as well as admissions to track progress on the implementation.
• Assist with the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) related to the initiative, to ensure they are in keeping with any legal agreements in consultation with Counsel’s Office.
o Work closely with designated Central Office and Field Office housing staff to ensure RFP language is consistent with any OMH housing policy and/or guidelines.
o Participate in review of proposals.
• Assist in the development, scheduling, curriculum maintenance, and delivery of any necessary training.
• Assist program lead in scheduling meetings, developing agendas, and conducting meetings.
• Respond to external inquiries from family members or other stake holder groups as directed by supervisor.
