Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have permanent status as an Agency Program Aide, Grade 13, and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Section 70.1 allows a permanent, competitive class employee, who has at least one year of permanent service in an appropriate title. Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting a qualified State employee to fill the position of Agency Program Aide 1, Grade 13, in the Division of Forensic Services (DFS), Bureau of Statewide Pre-Release Services.

Duties to be performed may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Advise Statewide Pre-Release Coordinator and senior management on discharge planning, bureau workflows and assist with revising policies and procedures.
• Make decisions related to pre-release services, including but not limited to decisions confirming release dates, and assessing/identifying inmates-patients that meet the violence threshold.
• Receive and review all records to ensure all clinically-relevant materials are received prior to inmate-patient’s release.
• Interact in person and by telephone with various state and local municipalities, county jails, police departments, forensic hospitals and medical and program directors and local housing provides.
• Ensure all housing applications are submitted for appropriately identified inmates-patients who are being transitioned back into the community.
