In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to potentially conduct non-competitive promotion examinations for the position of Director Mental Health Nutritional Services at the Office of Mental Health, Central Office. Permanent appointments may be made by non-competitive promotion of applicants who meet the position’s minimum qualifications if all requirements of a non-competitive promotion appointment are met.

Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill a Director of Mental Health Nutritional Services, M-2, position in the Office of Mental Health, Bureau of Nutrition Services. The Director of Mental Health Nutritional Services directs all functions associated with the Bureau of Nutrition Services at Central Office, and sets policy for all OMH facility Nutrition Services Departments. The incumbent will oversee the Cook Chill Production Center (CCPC) located in Orangeburg. CCPC produces wholesome food under USDA regulations that meets the nutritional and budgetary needs of its customers, including OMH facilities, other state and government facilities, and non-profit agencies. This position is the statewide discipline coordinator for Nutrition Services with a substantial component of duties responsible for CMS/JC accreditation standards for OMH’s 24 hospitals. The incumbent will be responsible for food budgets for all OMH hospitals, nutrition maintenance and food safety contracts, and statewide foodservice and clinical staffing for nutrition.
