Salary RangeFrom $56569 to $70646 Annually
Minimum Qualifications EITHER: 1) Reachable on the Civil Service eligible list OR 2) Eligible for reassignment by virtue of having permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 2 (Prog.); OR 3) eligible for transfer under the provisions of Section 70.1, 52.6 or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law.
Duties Description The incumbent duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
The incumbent will work in a team environment developing VB.NET
Applications as well as maintaining existing VB.NET. The incumbent will work with end-users to define the project requirements in an analysis and design document. The incumbent will then design, code, and test applications to meet the defined requirements. As a part of a project team, the incumbent will perform a full range of activities including: Systems analysis and design; Application programming development; Unit, Systems and Acceptance testing; and Systems implementation and maintenance.
Additional Comments Preferred Skills/Expertise
- Experience with .NET and Visual Studio 2010 / 2013.
- Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server and Stored procedure development.
- At least one year applied experience in application development.
- Familiarity with relational database programming techniques.
- Familiarity with external web application development.
- Familiarity with web services, IIS and Windows Server 2008.
- Familiarity with Network and Security applications relevant to
Web Design and secure coding practices.
- Knowledge of enterprise reporting tools, such as Crystal Reports.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of Object Oriented concepts
