Minimum Qualifications For Permanent Appointment to the Administrative Assistant, Grade 18 position: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in an administrative title eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law; or as a Retirement Systems Information Representative 1, G-18, which has been deemed appropriate for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

For Permanent Appointment to the Administrative Assistant Trainee 2, NS position: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive service in an administrative title eligible for transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law; or in one of the following titles which have been deemed appropriate for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law: Real Property Analyst 1, G-18; Management Specialist 1, G-18; Legal Assistant 2, G-17; Environmental Program Specialist 1, G-18; Education Program Assistant 2, G-18; or Contract Management Specialist 1, G-18.

For Permanent Appointment to the Administrative Assistant Trainee 1, NS position: Appointment from the PCO or PATT Civil Service eligible list; or one year of permanent competitive service in a title which has been deemed appropriate to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law such as: Administrative Aide, G-13; Agency Program Aide, G-13; Head Clerk, G-17; Jobs Program Specialist, G-16; Labor Services Representative, G-16; Legal Assistant 1, G-14; Office Assistant 3, G-14; Secretary 1, G-11; Secretary 2, G-15; or Unemployment Insurance Examiner, G-16.

Duties Description The Administrative Assistant will report directly to the Chief and will provide professional administrative and staff support to the Division of Law Enforcement statewide. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for managing and facilitating a wide variety of administrative duties and activities such as budgeting, personnel, purchasing, accounts payable, contract and grants administration, revenue reconciliation, travel, business services and ancillary duties as appropriate.

Additional Comments Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with SFS and Microsoft Excel
