Minimum Qualifications Current NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service as an Office Assistant 2 (Calculations) G9, OR a NYS employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent competitive service in a position allocated to a salary grade 7 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate would have strong computer skills and ability to review data; excellent verbal and communication skills; excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments; and experience working in a team based environment. Proficiency in Excel preferred.
Duties Description The Office Assistant 2 will work in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Homes Administration Unit. CACFP is a federally funded program which provides nutrition education and reimbursement to children in family day care homes, day care centers, emergency shelters, afterschool programs and adults in day care. The incumbent will screen new day care home provider applications by reviewing specific data bases to ensure provider eligibility. Log new applications into the CACFP Information and Payment System (CIPS). Prepare needed materials and accompany staff for on-site CACFP sponsor administrative program reviews. Extract and format program review reports from CIPS using Excel. Assist with preparation of materials for sponsor training. Assist with quality assurance audits of CIPS data through the review of extracted reports.
Additional Comments Contingent-Permanent, Full-time. Occasional statewide travel, including overnights and travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation is required.
