Minimum Qualifications EITHER: 1) Reachable on the Civil Service eligible list (if you are on the eligible list for this title, you will automatically be canvassed for this position if your score is reachable for potential appointment); OR 2) Eligible for transfer under the provisions of Section 70.1, 52.6 and 70.4 of the Civil Service Law by virtue of having one year of permanent competitive service in a transferable title.

Duties Description Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
- In the absence of the Head Account Clerk, oversee the operation and coordination of activities of the Cash Control Unit, including the supervision of staff.
- Serve as a contact with the depository bank.
- Work with staff of NYS Dept. of Tax and Finance, Division of Treasury in coordinating the processing of payment warrants and printing of checks.
- Respond to internal and external phone calls related to payments, lost checks, direct deposit inquiries and banking information.
- Keep apprised of banking rules and regulations as well as banking industry trends which may affect NYSTRS.
- Process the transfer of funds via wire or ACH and transfer of files to the depository bank and Treasury.
- Assist with the maintenance of policies and procedures related to the Cash Control Unit.
- Review daily bank statements for returned monies and process accordingly.
- Receive files from depository bank and process accordingly.
- Replace lost checks using the Stop Payment Database.
- Process forgery claims.
- Enter transactions in the Cash Management Database.
- Warrant creation/processing and correspondence.

- Knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or a willingness to learn PeopleSoft.
- Familiarity with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Access.
