Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications for Provisional Appointments:
A bachelors or higher-level degree in agronomy, agriculture, agricultural engineering, animal science, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, entomology, environmental science, environmental studies, natural resources, forestry, forest biology, aquatic biology, marine biology, horticulture, botany, or plant pathology.
Please note this is a provisional and contingent permanent position.
Duties Description Conduct inspections and investigations relating to pesticide-related activities; prepare reports, memos and letters; testify at administrative and criminal enforcement proceedings; administer certification examinations; monitor recertification training programs; process applications for certification exams and aquatic pesticide permits; provide public speaking, outreach and compliance assistance regarding federal and NYS pesticide laws, rules and regulations; and collect evidence and samples. Must obtain NYSDEC Pesticide Certification.
