Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Required for Appointment:
70.1 Transfer:
One year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service in a clerical, secretarial or keyboarding title, SG-13 or higher and demonstration of adequate keyboarding skills by prior service in a keyboarding title or successful completion of a Keyboard Specialist performance test.
A comprehensive list of titles approved for transfer to Secretary 2 is available for review in the Division of Human Resources Management.
Duties Description The incumbent will be responsible for a range of secretarial and administrative functions as the administrative support for the Director and Deputy Director of the Office of General Services Business Services Center (BSC). The incumbent must possess excellent organization, communication, problem solving, and computer skills, demonstrate exemplary customer service, take initiative and work independently.
The assigned tasks and responsibilities will be varied and will include but are not limited to the following:
• Coordinate and maintain the calendars of the Director and Deputy Director, including scheduling meetings and handling travel arrangements when necessary;
• Maintain contact distribution lists for the BSC;
• Draft communications, presentations, procedures and other communications;
• Greet visitors, manage incoming telephone inquiries, correspondence and record keeping;
• Ensure coordinated administrative support across the BSC and provide backup support to other units when needed;
• Prepare purchase requisitions and other requests;
• Appropriately handle confidential issues and respond to requests;
• Assist with special projects as needed.
