One year of permanent competitive or 55 b/c service as a Fire Protection Specialist 1, SG-18.
Duties Description Under the direction of the Chief of Hazard Mitigation, the incumbent will:
• Serves as Manager for all planning and project grants.
• Regular contact with subgrantees via meetings, telephone contacts and written communication.
• Prepare material for and conduct mitigation grant program briefings in an effort to solicit mitigation grant applications from eligible applicants.
• Review mitigation funding applications for completeness, given program guidelines.
• Conduct project management briefings for applicants with approved mitigation projects.
• Act as lead in working with subgrantees and FEMA on environmental issues including assurance that the necessary permits are obtained.
• Maintain contact and communicate with mitigation project subgrantees regarding progress in implementing approved projects.
• Obtain and submit to FEMA documents and other types of information required by FEMA to satisfy HMGP program management requirements.
• Process subgrantee requests for time extension, change in scope, cost overruns and reimbursement payments for subgrantees.
• Review and comment on Quarterly Reports submitted by mitigation program subgrantees.
• Assist with the preparation of Quarterly Reports that must be submitted to FEMA.
• Support emergency operations during times of emergency from the State Emergency Operations Center, field offices, and County and local Emergency Operations Centers.
